To interpret, you read between the lines, listen for false statements, speculate, illustrate, and more.
Apply
History involves applying the lessons of the past to the present. History is a dialogue between the past and the present. What experiences have you had that would shed light on this event? If your school were run in this manner, how would your life be different?
Analyze
History involves figuring out complicated situations.
Take the big event and break it down into its parts. Causes & Effects. Similarities & Differences.
Synthesize
History involves making sense out of a jumble of facts.
Add up the parts! Speculate, predict, make generalizations, draw conclusions.
Evaluate
History involves makeing judgements about people and events. You can examine all sides. Debate the pros and cons. Describe the strengths and weaknesses. Examine advantages and disadvantages. Usng a high standard, see to what extent the person measures up.
