This collection of Daily Warm-ups covers the most significant African American characters of the 20th century. From recognizable Civil Rights activists such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rosa Parks, to musicians such as Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, and Nina Simone, to poets, actors, and dancers, Maya Angelou, Sidney Poitier, and Alvin Ailey, to mysterious and vibrant characters like Malcom X and Muhammad Ali. And some of these Daily Warm-ups are also about not-so-recognizable figures, but equally as influential and historic, like W.E.B. Du Bois and Shirley Chisolm.
