QIN Dynasty—China's first Emperor (Shi Huangdi), absolute ruler, obedience to authority, centralized government, national unity, ended feudalism, persecuted Confucian scholars, forced labor, the Great Wall.
HAN Dynasty—Expansion of the empire. Confucianism, the bureaucratic state, civil service test. The Silk Road, trade with the Roman Empire. Buddhism spreads to China. Language as a barrier to unity. The invention of paper!
